Mags currently works in private practice as a pain relief movement specialist with a relational approach. Using her experience with a large and diverse caseload, she teaches resolving chronic pain in consultation, delivers guest lectures internationally and runs teacher-training and research programmes. She is one of four editors of Psychophysiological Disorders: Trauma Informed, Interprofessional Diagnosis and Treatment, 2019. Mags has over 25 years’ experience as a lecturer in Movement and Psychology. Her specialist background is in Laban, Body Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation, Authentic Movement and non-verbal communication. Mags trained with Lissa Rankin MD in 2014, and continues to teach and mentor with her. She initiated chronic pain research in the Neuroscience Department at University College Cork and University College Dublin. Mags is a Body Control Pilates Supervising Teacher, and lectures on University Edinburgh Dance Science Masters course. Mags is a member of ATNS, the Irish Pain Society and has worked with Chronic Pain Ireland for over 10 years. She enjoys sailing, running, botanical art and hiking.
